ABOUT BMS COLLEGE

B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is an autonomous engineering college in Basavangudi, Bangalore, India. It was started in 1946 by Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah and is run by the B.M.S. Educational Trust.

It is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and became autonomous in 2008. BMSCE is located on the Basavangudi Area Bull Temple Road, diagonally opposite to the famous Bull Temple. Though a private engineering college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka.

  • Admissions

    Students are admitted to undergraduate courses on basis of their performance in either Karnataka Common Entrance Test , or in the COMED-K test. Students are also admitted through a management quota, which does not place merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly to the second year of study in engineering. Students, upon graduating, receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

The Rotaract Club of BMS College is affiliated to Rotary International District 3190 The club conducts blood donation camps, National pulse polio drives, tree plantation drives and eye check-up camps. Raag is the youth club of BMS College.[34] The club provides the students a platform to showcase their leadership skills, talents in music, art and craft and also literary interests by organizing college level events like Opinions, an open discussion forum. The club, along with the National Service Scheme unit of college, organizes visit to leprosariums and orphanages. It organizes an Eye Pledging Camp in association with the Lions Eye Bank, Bangalore.

Activities

The Melton Foundation was established in 1991 to build a worldwide community of talented people from diverse cultures capable of addressing global issues based on principles of open communication and mutual respect.

The core activities of the Melton Foundation are made possible through an endowment provided by William Melton and Patricia Smith Melton in partnership with five host universities located in Chile, China, Germany, India, and the United States.
